The most amazing software that I've come acrossed in a loooong while I'd like to share with you. Let me tell you why this isn't your normal Diary or Organizer, but first: the link!
This amazing program is something I'm working on using every day (actually multiple times a day lol)has things that I couldn't even explain, but let me
'steal' their feature list and try to explain after why I personally love it. But first, as you all know, I'm very honest about whether something is safe or not to use. This software uses: Encryption of your data using industry-standard methods for your privacy and all your entries are protected by an optional password. I've also checked it via my own security software (which I always do) with Malwarebytes, Spybot Search&Destroy, Super Antispyware, Avast (both after, and during download) and Outpost. I have to say this is a definate program to look at, they will have a spot in my 'Hall of Fame' of software lol. Here's what it does: (stolen from their site ^^)
*Keep everyday records -- Save and browse your personal records in the Diary protected by a password and encryption.
*See your life -- Keep a regular record with the help of our life factors and see the results on a color Graph.
*Express yourself -- Record and play back voice entries in the Diary.
*Be organized -- Schedule puts a fully featured calendar at your fingertips to make sure you never miss anything important!
*Stay focused -- Use Tasks to set items you want to accomplish and monitor their progress.
*Never lose anything -- Notes will take care of that by providing a powerful way to organize any bits of information.
*Eat healthy -- Nutrition will let you create and share recipes and help you to understand and plan your dietary needs.
*Stay healthy -- Medication will remind you - it can even send you an e-mail, if you are away from your computer.
*Stay in touch -- Just enter all the important dates in the Contacts and you will be reminded of them when due.
* Be mobile-- you can use a portable version of SDS directly off your USB/flash/memory stick drive anywhere!
And more including:
# Run it directly off a USB or flash drive without installing on any machine.
# Optional password and auto-lock on inactivity settings.
# Multiple skins (visual styles) included.
# Fully resizable and customizable interface.
# Fast and reliable.
# Free support.
As soon as I can fix a few blog things, including it's theme (as it's doing wierd things to the images) it'll have a permanent side on my side thingy. Seriously, I think this program is so amazing, and I truly love using it. It's helping me to work on goals, keep up with my meds, and most of all, write! If I write things, it's kinda like a meditation for me, and it really helps me to refocus on things, if that makes sense. There's both a freeware version (which is amazing!) and priced editions that really make buying it deeefinately worthwhile. Guys I know every single one of you will enjoy this program and love it as much as I do. Check it out, see if you can prove me wrong. ^_~ ^^ In case you didn't click the link above, the addy is:http://www.sdiary.com/index.php
In other topics, I am going to be working on changing the theme, and also 'sectioning' up the various topics via different blogs (but all linked together like web pages) so that you can see blogs I've written according to certain types, like Software, Poetry, Misc Ramble etc. I'm also considering making a forums, and will do a 'mock-up' one of these days soon to see what you guys would think of it. Either way, I definately need a way to get input and thoughts from you, as it'll help me to know what sort of things you'd like to see, and what sort of stuff you have prefered. I'm thinking of a sort of guestbook/mini forum (if that makes sense). Tbh, I know I'll be writing a bit more often as time goes on, because that program I just mentioned has been helping me so dang much I can't even describe it. I love all of ya guys! Thanks for reading, and for listening to me ramble once again. ^^
Don't worry, I've not forgotten my dear lovies here! I also want to give kissies otc to those who've been in the Shoutbox (I think I might recognize a couple of you ^_~) I'm thinking of changing the theme btw...but don't worry, I always make sure the theme is relatively light and easy to read. I just am not very happy with some of the box shapes/widths, and all that junk. I'll ask too, your opinions just in case you prefer this one (after you see whatever I change to). To continue on to the post! Btw, all the blue below are clickable links ^^.
First of all, I'm not mentioning the below for any reason except that it's time for me to share my 'fun' daily 'yay'! lol It's like shopping w/o the guilt lol. But, for a long time I've kept this secret...however I realize it's not really a good thing to do so... So today I'm sharing it with you. If you decide to check it out, cool, if not, that's cool as well. If you've been reading my site, I hope you'd realize I'd not reccomend anything that's not safe lol. The site is completely safe and adware etc free. The software itself is adware/spyware free, that's something they mention themselves.
The subject here is called Giveaway Of The Day... but to the right you'll also see a little square. Everyday it updates with the software of that day (they update it via their site...cool huh?). So you can either see it here, or you can RSS them..or email updates. Let me tell you a bit about the site before you go merrily clicking ^_~
Software creators sometimes would like feedback on various software...a lot of times they are established but just want to know how the software they are selling is actually being recieved. Sometimes they also can get hints on how to improve their existing products...really amazingly cool! Anyways, everyday there's a 'Giveaway' (they also have a Game Giveaway, but it's not updated daily. I'll give the link for that in a moment). The software is given with a 'code' or 'exe' which will unlock the software so that you have it completely free! On some software, I like to see what the other opinions are before I download (you can see opinions/comments on the actual download page). I also encourage comments as well, if you do participate. It helps to keep software companies coming...and hopefully even more in the future. If you're still not sure whether you want to give it a go...hey no worries... in fact if you want just come here now and then and see what is being offered that day, and maybe you'll be interested enough to check it out. I always recommend doing research on any product/site, so please do so ^_^
In their Forums (which is actually pretty cool to scan through) there's a thread called: Good Software we Need to Know About (blue is clickable). Copying the first part to explain:
I see a lot of tripe in comments on front page like, 'theres better freeware and open source available than todays give away', etc.
So instead of wasting time on the front page bitching each other heres a sticky explaining it yourself.
So rules of combat are as follows:
Whatever is posted on the front page each 24 hour period you then have to come up with polite comments explaining why your example is better and if there is a linux or mac alternative if it's a windows release.
If it's only a windows release then no problems.
Only post here if:
1)it's freeware /Or
2)it's open source
3)has no spyware what so ever
4)you can provide a valid link to the home page that also explains about the application or game and provides a working download link.
That's all folks! ^_^ See you all soon! ^_^
So I'm a bit behind on my update But I've been trying to get my life organized -.- For those who don't know....
Organized is an EVIL word... v.v
I need to fix my links over there <--- after all, they are a year old and I'm a 'web-tinkerer' lol. I'm not even sure how to describe that, so don't ask!
Just to let ya know some of what I'm using to help "organize" myself...perhaps they might help you too. Of note, I will not post anything toooo personal in the blog...otherwise it'd not be "open" to the public . Yes you!
After my "organzing links" are my "organizing my computer" links Even that gets messy, ya know ^_^ But everything posted below is free. Only the very last (sadly the very best) has a "buy" but there is a 30 day trial that I DO reccomend.
I'll post something funny in the next few days...but until then, here's the links!
http://www.google.com/ig or otherwise known as IGoogle...you can add your links, your calendar (I have a different one then the standard Gmail), and have multiple pages. For example, have your Important Stuff on the first page, add some cool gadgets to the 2nd, etc. I made one specially for the calendar though, because it's big and I want it full size lol. So everything (mostly) that I'm posting I have in my "IGoogle" site.
http://www.keepandshare.com This is an amazing place...the calendar I was just referring to is where this is at. But it's not just calendars, it also allows for Document Sharing and Creating (much like the Google one), ToDo lists, Address Book, Photo Blogs, Bookmarks (not only for if you are sharing your "views" but if you just want to organize your "good" bookmarks into a place that's not going to need to be "reformated" lol) But there's also a Discussion area...Sort of like creating a forum specifically for an idea or plan, people comment back and forth in the "group" on it. Really really neat, and I'm not explaining it well lol. They have many video tutorials, so check them out.
http://www.flylady.net It's difficult to know exactly how to describe this site...but it's one I'm going to be working on using a lot. Life a bit of a clutter? This site is amazing at working on yourself...from cleaning, taking your medications, everything. There's both baby steps, and also a "control journal" although if you do work on this, work on it after the baby steps. Even if your life is relatively organized as it is, it doesn't hurt to do the "baby steps" so that you can train yourself to do things in a more efficient and less time consuming manner. Trust me on this lol. There is a "shop" area, but you honestly don't have to buy a thing.
And a few things for your desktop:
EssentialPIM This is an excellent desktop program...the link I put for you is the comparison of the free vs. pay, but honestly you can do juuust fine with the free, it's an excellent program. Calendar with Alarms, To Do, Notes, Contacts, Address Book, Schedule...it's amazing. Yes, there's things on it that you can find on the link I about KeepandShare...but it's still a great desktop app if your someone who needs that...and you can't ignore the dang alarms -.-.
Revo Uninstaller Just as it says...but do make sure you read the instructions. It's way better than using your own computer's uninstaller, as you'd be suprised at how many things are left behind by programs.
Avast! Amazing, is all I have to say. Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Rootkit... They also have a Virus Cleaner program...what that is (forgive me for pasting some of it):
If, despite all the security measures you take, your computer gets infected by a virus or worm, it is necessary to disinfect your system somehow. While for some viruses the only 100% reliable method of disinfection is restoring your system from backups, for many common infections this is not really necessary and the virus/worm can be removed quite easily.SpyBot Search & Destroy You've probably heard of this one...I do have to reccomend not using the "teatimer" option that you can have inside it, but I do love this program. Easy to use, as well.
TuneUp Utilities It's not free, but there is a 30 day trial...I suggest giving it a trial lol. It's my favorite program, by far, even if I only have the "2008" version lol. Seriously though, check it out.
If your a computer beginner,I suggest using only the following Tabs
Free Up Disk Space ~
Unnecessary files and backups. Yes it is safe to remove the backups, as it does keep your latest backup.
Maintain Windows ~
- One Click (safe, very safe)
Additional Tools ~
- Registry Cleaner (Feel free to get rid of all those beasts)
Drive Defrag (have the option check to automatically defrag if it needs to. If you defrag too often, believe it or not you can hurt your computer...Defragging means it has to go over every single area of your computer, so yeah = wear and tear. Let it figure out the best time, by checking that.)
Registry Defrag (I'd only use this if you do the "scan" and it shows that you can improve it by 20 percent or more.)That's all for now! Now lemme alone!
- System Information This is a handy gadget, tells you a lot about your computer, and can assist you in recieving help from tech if you ever need it (like your computer company or whatever.
- Shredder Make sure you want to shred what you are shredding...no going back on this one.
- Uninstall Safe, but I still prefer the Revo Uninstaller mentioned above
Until next time!
